From Monday 27th February for one week, the driveway at the Church Street entrance of St M’s is being resurfaced and there will be no access from Church Street to the church. The path at the back of church will also be re-laid at the same time.
Thank you for all your donations of food to the food bank bin at the back of the church. Everything from St Michael’s goes to the Woodbridge Salvation Army. Unfortunately they say the need is still as urgent as ever. Quite a lot of the people they help are homeless and don’t have access to cookers, so could you bear that in mind when you are buying. Every week Russell and Phoebe who run the Woodbridge branch have to buy in extra food to make up the shortfall so anything you give is much appreciated. Tinned meat or fish and other basics are the most urgently needed (all within the sell by date please). Sandy Rowles
This year there will be two Lent Study Groups running for 5 weeks in Lent. One will take place straight after the Wednesday Communion beginning on Wed 8th March. The other will be on Thursday evenings 7.30pm – 9.30pm, beginning on 9th March. Geraldine and Peter Smith have very kindly offered to host the group this year at their home. Betty Mockford will be leading the Thursday group and for more information contact Geraldine. Both groups will be using the ‘Living Faith in Suffolk’ material from the Diocese. If you would like to join one of these groups please add your name to the sign-up sheets at the back of church. Everyone is welcome

CONFIRMATION SERVICE AT ST MICHAEL'S CHURCH: This July 19th Bishop Martin is coming to Framlingham at 7.30pm to confirm eight people —six from Framlingham and some from the deanery. It has been a joy to share several months of preparation with them and it leaves me with the sense we could easily do several more sessions and still only be scratching the surface of the Good News we have to share.
Confirmation can happen whether you are a teenager, an adult or of ‘mature years’ but with a heart and mind to learn and experience that God is at work. It ‘confirms’ not only baptism but also that people want to continue to explore their faith and how God is at work. It confirms their membership of the church — and so the confirmation affects who we are as a Church and is an important occasion for us all as their wider church family.
So I ask you now not only to pray for them but to come that evening to St Michael’s to support them and meet the Bishop. Their names are:
From Framlingham: David Mason, Matthew Mason, Jeff Burt, Richard Charnock — Smith, Stephanie March, Victoria Whatmough.
Saxtead & Framlingham Churches - PET & TEDDY SERVICE July 17th 3.30pm
Friday mornings during term time drop off the children at school and come for coffee in church
We have been planning and preparing for a while now and with input from families and other churches we hope that we have found a way forward.
Three main areas were set out as our focus: Children and families; Pastoral work and care; Worship and Music. Underpinning all those is Prayer — something we can all contribute.
