A Letter from our Priest-in-Charge, Chris

I am delighted to be able to write now I’m licensed as priest in charge and settled in the Rectory. It was lovely to see so many faces at my licensing, especially all the wonderful photographs of happy faces and welcoming messages displayed in church from those not able to be at the service due to the current restrictions, thank you!

We now look forward as the autumn sets in and we move towards the celebrations that come in this last part of the year. Obviously we are going to need to be creative in the way we do things. At the moment we will need to plan for lots of different scenarios in our ever changing situation but the most important thing is to provide worship which speaks deeply of the love of God, revealed in Jesus for our world today: to remain a strong worshipping community and find ways to express our fellowship in our current climate: to speak of God in a way which makes sense and is authentic to our inherited experience of God in this challenging time not only to sustain us but to touch new hearts and bring hope in different lives. That is an exciting challenge which, in the power of the Holy Spirit will create new opportunities!

At the moment it’s not easy to visit people at home but you are all daily in my prayers and I am looking forward to getting to know you all in the time ahead. Please pray for the Ministry Team as together, we begin to plan into the future.
With my very best wishes to you, Chris
