All Saints’ Church News:
The Wardens recently received a visit from the two case officers for the pilot project of the Taylor Report, for church buildings in Suffolk or Manchester. The officers give advice about grants for maintenance work and ways of working with the wider community. We are working hard on our grant application for the repairs which are needed on All Saints and this grant will help a little Once this work is done it will help us focus on our exciting vision of getting a water supply and improving the back of the church.

Celebrating Saxtead
The programme for the weekend festival is really taking shape, and I would like to draw your attention to the Sunday concert. We are lucky to have a lot of child musicians, so whether they can sing or play, we would love them to take part in what promises to be a great finale. Please contact Kirsten Errington on kirsten@rightmusic.co.uk
People with catering experience also needed and general volunteers.. Contact Lorette Roberts info@loretteroberts.com or me, Sue Ward on saxtead_sue@hotmail.com
(We will shortly be contacting all those who have already volunteered)

Stan Rodwell Recently we heard the sad news of the death of Stanley Rodwell. One of our oldest residents, Stan came from a family of nine, nearly all involved in farming. I remember him telling me tales of his childhood : filled with fun and laughter despite a relative lack of money . The farm that we bought from him was immaculately kept and I am sure that on a quiet night the rhythmic sound of him sweeping the drive can still be heard.

An accomplished player of the melodeon, he will be fondly remembered by those who knew him. Please keep me in touch with any major family events so they can be included in the newsletter. Sue Ward
