News from Saxtead
Sadly the Children’s Breakfast and Easter Egg
Hunt are cancelled along with the Easter
service, following the Church of England and
Bishop’s guidelines.
The Framlingham & Saxtead Alpha Course
was a great success, ending with a regular
attendance of about eight, rising to twelve on
occasions. We were especially blessed to have
Bishop Sandy Millar, the Alpha Bishop from
Holy Trinity Brompton, to lead our “Holy Spirit
Day” at New Chapel Farm, Mells, and to have
resounding support on keyboard from Paul
Laughlin from Witnesham. Archdeacon Sally
Gaze very kindly came to tell us about her
vision for home prayer groups and we hope to
form one in the autumn when we are safe to
congregate again.
As Saxtead Church Warden I have had
enormous support in the village in setting up
the Covid-19 Support Group. We have two
teams, the self-isolated group A headed by me
and the non-isolated group B headed by
Stephen McDowell and his family in Saxtead
Bottom. Nicholas Shepherd has very kindly
offered his pub, The Old Mill House, as a
delivery hub for food deliveries and has ample
space chilled and frozen food. For any queries,
please ring Christina on 07977 575165 or
01728 724162 for either offering or needing
help.
Everything has been organised along
the guidelines sent me by Mark and devised
by Archdeacon Sally Gaze. Christina
